Roblox Plus Now Limits Free Private Servers to One Per Game
The unlimited free private server perk is over. As of September 24, Roblox Plus subscribers get one free private server in each game that sells them. If you had several free servers in the same game, you keep one, and the rest no longer renew.
How to check which one you kept: Go to Settings > Subscriptions and look for the server labeled "Included with Roblox Plus." Roblox picked it for you automatically, and it's the only free one in that game that stays active. Your other free servers will expire on the dates shown in the list. You won't be charged for them, and you can switch off any you don't need right away.
Need more than one? You can still have as many private servers in a game as you like. Each one after your free server costs whatever the game's creator charges.
What isn't changing:
Private servers you paid for yourself keep running and renewing through your original payment method.
Games whose creators already give private servers away for free aren't affected.
Friends you've invited can still join your server, even when you're offline.
One thing to keep in mind if you're thinking of trying Plus for a single month: your free server only lasts as long as your subscription. Cancel, and it expires when your current billing period ends.
Why Roblox did it: Roblox says a handful of Plus members were creating thousands of free servers per game and opening them up to huge numbers of players, which cut into the money creators make from selling private servers. Since most members used only one server per game, Roblox chose a limit of one instead of a higher number like five. The company also argues the change helps creators in another way: Plus private servers only earn creators a payout once the owner has played in them for 60 minutes in a billing cycle, and that's much easier to reach when a player sticks to one server instead of spreading their time across several.
Community reactions have been mixed. Plenty of players think a cap was overdue, pointing to bot accounts and services that were handing out free servers to anyone who asked. Others feel one is too stingy, since unlimited servers were a big part of why they signed up for Plus in the first place. Developers have their own complaint: the cap covers their own games too, so they can't make free private servers in games they built. And families who kept one server for playing with friends and a second just for the kids will now have to pick one or pay for the other..
This is the Last Weekend to Finish The Hunt: Roblox 20
Roblox's 20th anniversary event closes on Monday, September 28 at 10 AM PT (1 PM ET). After that, every reward tied to the event becomes unobtainable, so this weekend is your last shot.
Roblox has been adding five secret quests every other day since September 19, for a total of 20. Each one gives you an exclusive item and a fragment, and all 20 fragments unlock a final puzzle. The first 20 players to solve it win an exclusive Dominus. The good news if you're not a speedrunner: the 20 secret quest items are yours no matter how long you take. Only the Dominus is a race.
Watch out for scams. With only 20 Dominus winners worldwide, fake giveaways are everywhere. Nobody can sell you fragments, quest progress, or a "guaranteed" Dominus, and anyone who asks for your login is trying to steal your account.
Plus members get one extra bonus: they keep the Classic app theme, with the old Roblox logo, colors, and font, after the event ends.
Anime Adventures Team Reveals Official TenSura Game
Anime Adventures' developers announced their next project: the official TenSura: Isekai Adventures, a Roblox game based on That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. Unlike most anime games on the platform, this one is fully licensed. The team built it through Roblox's License Manager, and all revenue is shared with Kodansha, the series' publisher.
The developers say they've rebuilt and improved many of the systems they first brought to the genre, while staying within the licensing guidelines. There's no release date yet, but they've promised to share more soon.
The team also used the announcement to address Anime Adventures directly. They say they aren't behind any third-party remake or continuation of the game, haven't approved one, and that real Anime Adventures news will only come from their YouTube channel. They also pushed back on rumors that they're walking away from Anime Adventures, saying work on it continues and that they're aiming for a solution that keeps the game alive for the long haul.
