Roblox just announced a big personalization push for Roblox Plus: profile backgrounds, app themes, and profile frames, all rolling out over the next few months. Sounds great on paper, and a lot of it genuinely is. The community's reaction has been more mixed than Roblox probably hoped, though, and the feedback is worth reading.
As for this weekend, bbno$ is about to attempt one of the biggest virtual concerts ever staged on Roblox, voice chat is finally getting the setting everyone has been begging for, and we've got our Game of the Week plus a stacked weekend lineup. Roblox Plus Is Getting a Glow-Up, and Players Have Thoughts
This week, Roblox has laid out the next phase of Roblox Plus, and it's all about customizing your profile. Here's what's actually coming:
Avatar Backgrounds (Immediately) - You can finally put an image behind the 3D avatar on your profile, starting at 200 Robux each. Plus subscribers get an exclusive set added to their inventory for free, and in the coming weeks, they will be able to upload their own background designs in Creator Hub and sell them in the Marketplace.
App Themes (August) - Subscribers will be able to change the look of the entire Roblox app with curated color palettes, custom UI accents, and background styling.
Profile Frames (Coming Months) - Decorative frames around your profile picture, starting with a limited selection.
Players love to customize their profiles, and you’d expect the response to be excitement. However, the feelings are mixed on these new customization options. Why is that?
The AI accusations for the backgrounds, though one of the Senior Software Engineers at Roblox, Corey (@c0re0s on X), clarified that the images haven’t been AI-generated but that AI might have been used to upscale them.
200 Robux for a picture - Charging for a static profile background is rubbing people the wrong way, though you can get a free background if you’ve completed age verification.
Roblox Nitro - Profile frames and app themes are features Discord players have had for a while, and plenty of people said so out loud.

Voice Chat Is Finally Getting Its Own Volume Slider!
Small update, massive quality-of-life win. Roblox is adding a setting that lets you control voice chat volume separately from game volume. There isn’t any official news from Roblox just yet, and it seems to be an A/B test released to some users like @ROWNIE12, but people are still getting excited.
We’ve got additional confirmation on the feature from KreekCraft, who added that devs are going to include individual voice chat sliders for each player in a server. A feature to look forward to!
Bbno$ Is Coming to Roblox This Weekend!
With more than 15 million followers on the event page, the bbno$ concert on Roblox is shaping up to be a spectacle. It may even break records for the most attended concert on the platform so far! If you’re interested in attending, the concert will be run in collaboration with SecretVerse Studio, inside their +1 Speed Keyboard Escape game. The concert is happening on Saturday, July 25, at 1 PM CST / 11 AM PST, and you’ll be able to get some exclusive Items for the game during it.
