Roblox Gets Serious About Safety: Age Checks Now Mandatory for Chat
Roblox just made its biggest move yet regarding the players’ safety. The platform announced that users will soon need to verify their actual age. This will be possible either through Facial Age Estimation technology or traditional ID verification. No verification? No chatting. It's that simple.
This isn't just another optional setting buried in account preferences. Roblox is implementing age-based chat restrictions that will fundamentally change how users interact on the platform. The goal is to limit communication between different age groups, particularly between minors and adults. If you're a kid trying to chat with someone significantly older (or vice versa), Roblox will block it unless you're a "Trusted Connection," which covers established relationships that meet specific platform criteria.
