Hey Problox fans!

Good news for anyone who's ever spent Robux on a paid game and instantly regretted it. Roblox just rolled out a much-needed feature: demos! Even the usual skeptics are calling it a genuine win. We're breaking down exactly how it works and why it matters.

Innovation Awards voting is officially open (with six free UGC items waiting for you), Roblox is handing out a free week of Roblox Plus with a catch, and our Game of the Week is a title you probably already know and love. Let's get into it. But first, don't forget to catch up on our other Problox newsletters. Here is what you missed.

You Can Now Try Paid Roblox Games Before You Buy Them

This is the one players have been asking for since forever. Roblox will now let you play a demo of a paid-access game before you commit to buying full access.

If this has ever burned you, you know the pain. Paid-access games have always been a bit of a gamble, and if you don’t end up liking the game, that money is just gone. Now you can actually sample the game, and if you don’t like it, you don’t have to buy it. Easy as that.

The community reaction has been overwhelmingly positive, which is not something you can say about every recent Roblox update. However, there are still some negative reactions to charging so much money for a game on Roblox.

That said, not everyone's celebrating, and the pricing debate got loud fast. A lot of the comments zeroed in on paid games like Egg Hunt, which runs close to $30 to buy. For that kind of money, you could grab a full game on Steam instead. Is $30 too steep for a Roblox game, or is this exactly the kind of pricing that pushes developers to make bigger, better experiences worth paying for?

Innovation Awards Voting Is Open (and There's Free UGC in It for You)

The 2026 Roblox Innovation Awards have moved from nominations to voting, which you can do inside The Block, the official voting hub. You can vote for your favorite games across many categories from July 29 through August 11, and winners get revealed on September 12.

Here's the part you care about: heading into The Block and taking part earns you free UGC items. Just joining the hub drops the RIA Voting Hub 2026 Welcome Cap into your inventory automatically. There are more items to grab through simple objectives like taking a screenshot, finishing a hidden obby, and more. The whole set of tasks takes only about five minutes, so it's basically free stuff for a few minutes of clicking around.

Roblox Is Testing Free Roblox Plus Trial in Exchange for Age Verification

Roblox seems to be testing a new feature: a free week of Roblox Plus for players who complete age verification on their account. Worth stressing that this isn't a platform-wide update just yet, but it's easy to see the goal. A perk like this could nudge some of the accounts that haven't age-verified yet to finally do so.

On the surface, it's a nice freebie. The catch is what you hand over to get it. Age checks on Roblox run through either facial age estimation or ID verification, and players are pushing back on the trade. The common complaint: a week of free trial just isn't enough to get someone to share personal information like that. Which is probably the most interesting part of this being a test. If Roblox is measuring how many people bite, a week might just be the starting offer

👑 Our Top Game Of the Week 👑

Sometimes the Game of the Week isn't the newest thing on the block. It's the one that has quietly stayed great for years, and Murder Mystery 2 is exactly that. While the game has seen lower numbers for a bit, the CCU is back up to 600k+ these days after the Summer event update. Hopefully, this will be a sign to the devs that the game can still thrive and dominate the charts, and if you haven’t played it yet, this is your sign to try it out!
