US Senate Opens Child Safety Investigation Into Roblox

Roblox is under new scrutiny in Washington. This week, the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Counterterrorism opened a bipartisan investigation into how the platform protects its youngest users, led by Senators Josh Hawley (R-MO) and Dick Durbin (D-IL).
The pair sent a letter to founder and CEO David Baszucki directing the company to preserve all records tied to child safety and to produce documents in response to the subcommittee's questions by August 31, 2026. The core allegation is that Roblox leaned on growth and engagement while safety lagged behind.
Roblox has pushed back. The company's chief safety officer said Roblox is built on a foundation of safety, and Roblox points to a wave of recent changes as evidence, including age checks before users can access chat and new Roblox Kids and Roblox Select account tiers that limit what under-16 players can reach. The investigation arrives on top of separate action from the Florida Attorney General's office and a run of international restrictions over the past year, so pressure on the company has been building from several directions at once.
Reaction inside the community has been divided. Some players and creators have questioned the proportionality of the attention, noting that other large social platforms host similar risks with less public heat, and worry that a heavy-handed response could pile on restrictions that make everyday play and creation harder. Others welcome tighter guardrails on a platform where so many users are kids. Both things can be true at once, and the documents due at the end of the month will do a lot to decide which direction this goes. We’ll monitor this story and keep you posted.

Wonderland Finally Launches After a Ratings Delay

ScaryPlay's long-awaited co-op horror game Wonderland is live, arriving on mobile, PC, and console after a launch-day scare of its own. The game was set to release on August 8 before the team pulled it roughly an hour out, saying Roblox's moderation had rated the experience 16+ while the developers wanted an all-ages launch. It went on to release a few days later.
Wonderland comes from the studio behind The Mimic, but it plays differently. There are no books or chapters here. Instead, you get non-linear, heavily randomized runs, so encounters, monsters, and events change from session to session. Up to five players can team up to work through the theme-park setting, using the Wonder Shop, tools like the Map and Stopwatch, and weapons including a hammer and a minigun to survive puzzles and pursuers. If you've been waiting for a true follow-up to The Mimic, this is it
Anime Origins Is Out Now!

You summon anime-inspired units through a banner system, upgrade them with stat-boosting traits, and grind bosses, story stages, and raids for the evolution materials that turn your roster into stronger forms.
