Avatar Makeup Has Officially Landed

On March 31, 2026, Roblox launched Avatar Makeup, a brand-new category in the Avatar Marketplace and Customize tab. We're talking 100+ items to mix and match: eyeshadow, blush, lipstick, face paint, full-face looks, decals, you name it.

Creators can design and sell their own makeup looks (and bundle complete sets), and brands like e.l.f. Beauty has already jumped in with real-world-inspired collabs. The tech behind it supports up to six overlapping layers on a 3D mesh, so there's a ton of creative room here — both for players personalizing their avatars and for UGC creators looking for new ways to monetize. If you're a fashion-focused player, this one's a big deal!

New Roblox Avatar Item for Big Spenders

Roblox's safety rollout is still in full swing. Their March 2026 Safety Snapshot highlighted full-scene multimodal AI moderation — the system now reads combinations of text, images, and user-generated content at the same time and flags issues in real time, often before other players even see them.

There are also some useful new tools for developers: a Creator Dashboard feature that now shows server shutdowns caused by bad behavior, read-only chat permissions for group moderators, and AI-powered chat rephrasing that rewrites profanity into cleaner language while keeping the original message's intent. That last one is going to be interesting to watch in practice.

Age verification for chat remains central to the system, and Roblox is clearly committed to this approach in the long term.
